Its been fun, but we are going no further in this competition, its beginning to have a negative effect on our league form, lets all move on and start to look at whats really important, moving up this league, beating teams like Hull, not having to play the likes of Doncaster Rovers, i am thankful for all the memories of that beautiful day last February, emotions i have never felt before, but we need to re group as a team, lift our spirits, after two defeats and move forward. I believe that only then will we see where we really are as a team. IN CH WE TRUST |

When we were winning in the europa we were winning in the league. We lost in the Europa so then we lose in the league. So if by any chance we win our next Europa game and scrape through, that could be a massive boost to the team and club. Go for it! |

I've loved the European experience - I hope lady luck favors us next week. I was lucky enough to be able to travel over for a European game - it was the bes Blues experience I've had other than Wembley. I'm sorry you can't enjoy this special aspect of our clubs history. |

What's really important is cherishing the special times. Next Thursday, win lose or draw is a special time. Doncaster on Saturday just isn't. Win, lose, draw, relegation or promotion league football will be there next year, and the year after, and the one after that. As long as the club exists, there will be league football each and every year. But Europe? When will we get to see the likes of Braga, Brugge and Maribor again? When will we get to stand on the brink of the next round and the chance of playing Valencia, or Ajax, or Porto? Just think about that for a minute: Ajax playing at St. Andrews in a European game. Sorry, the thought of that just excites me more than Doncaster. This is European football. At our tin pot little club that always threatens to achieve something and then falls on their bottom. Balls to Doncaster, we can lose 5-0 on Saturday for all I care if it means the fates aligning on Thursday and Braga (and Blues) doing the business. |

Im pretty sure that if Braga lose, then they can go out.... They are definately not through completely yet. So surely its in their nature to try and win the game. You go out for a draw, and you get what Man Utd got yesterday... Just go out and win the game, our fate will be decided in the other game, but I think we will be able to understand alot more from that after about 20 minutes. Even if its 0-0 after 80 mins, its still possible we can go through. I firmly believe, as against Arsenal, the fateful words of our song will reign true again... Everyone remembers the commentators everywhere after the CC final. "They did what they say, and kept right on to the end of the road" |

Sorry but Braga are already through Even if they lose to Club Brugges and we beat Maribor and overturned a -7 goal differential Braga would still go through Based on the fact they beat us not once but twice GD doesn't even come into play........It is the head to head results that come into play firstly if two teams are level on points at the end of all of the Group games The one and only way Blues can through is to beat Maribor at St Andrews and for Braga to win in Bruges....any scorelines it doesn't matter .....that is the only hope for us In that scenario Blues would be level with Club Brugges but we took 4 points off them in the 2 games so we would go through .....again GD would have nothing to do with it KRO **thumbup |

I cant agree more!!!!!!!!! The consequences of us actually getting promoted this year under our current management would be dire for us. Id expect all of the ££ to go straight out to CY and CH to be left to fight with poor players against the big guns - it would mean total disaster and a straight relegation. The European games have shown us for the first time in 50 years how great times can be had. Ive cherished every single moment. Saturdays just another league game against a nothing team for me. Ill go of course but Im so looking forward to Maribor! |

And this is the reason this club is going down the pan. If we get relegated we may not have a club to support with these horrible finances. You say balls to doncaster, but staying in this league is the most important thing right now, I say balls to europe. Stop letting your personal feelings and desires get in the way of what is actually important for the club, which at the minute is staying afloat and staying in this league. Europe is not important to the future of this club. |

The game against Maribor could be another special night at St. Andrews.....Although not totally in our hands its a bit like a semi-final.....a win could keep us in the competition and looking forward to the draw on friday for the next game in February. Plenty of time to concentrat on the league between now and then. :dancer: |

Down the pan? We're in the same position we've been in for the vast majority of the 25 years I've been going down there. As a matter of fact we're in a much healthier position than in the late 80s when I was first being dragged down there to stand in the freezing cold and watch us get gubbed over by teams full of woeful journeymen with mullets and tight shorts. Really, what was the point of bothering to win the cup last season if this is the attitude? European football is a once in a lifetime experience for a club like Blues. If you can't let that thrill and excite you, then why bother? Do you genuinely think that if Blues lose against Doncaster then the club will fold and that will be the end of it? It won't be. The result against Doncaster tomorrow will go absolutely nowhere towards securing the future of Blues. An epic, historic victory on Thursday, and a little bit of luck in Belgium, just might. Come on, be a romantic for once. Blues v Ajax, St. Andrews. Just imagine it. |

Yeahh sorry, I remember that now you say it :) Even so, I dont think that Braga are going to give any less than 100%, and people are talking as though we are already out, when realistically, it is probably 50/50 whether we go through if we do what is asked of us and beat Maribor. |

Sporting Lisbon, Anderlecht, Olympiakos, Valencia , PSV and Atletico Madrid could be other options depending on results next week Then bring on Man United in the last 16 as SAF will play his reserves and Vidic is already out About time we won at Old Trafford.....have to be honest, it beats a trip to Barnsley or Peterborough **thumbup |

Brugge are such an up and down team, no one really knows what is going to happen in their game with Braga. Confident that we will do the job... but I almost think it is irrelevant how Braga play - all about Brugge |

I'm clinging to the fact that when Braga beat us 3-1 at home they looked very decent in terms of their ability to finish. However, i just have the feeling Brugges and Braga will play out a draw and both be content with that. |

That's a very good point And a draw doesn't really suit Braga as they would still finish in 2nd place Unfortunately that result would knock Blues out so let's hope they do the right thing and go for the win **thumbup |

took the following from... Footybible Europa League Last 32/16 Draw **thumbup Looking at the teams that have already qualified for the Europa League last 32 and it will still take a good side to win it this season. As it is a new format for many of you, here’s a run down of how the draw will go. How it will work The 12 group winners from the Europa League group phase plus the 4 best third placed Champions League finishers will all be seeded in pot 1. Obviously the 12 runners up from the Europa League group phase and the 4 worse third placed Champions League finishers will be in pot 2. Simple right. Do NOT panic Don’t panic folks I have done the working out for you. Man City, Man United, Olympiakos and Valencia are the best 4 of the third placed Champions League finishers and they join Schalke, Anderlecht, FC Twente, FC Metalist Kharkiv, Sporting, PSV Eindhoven, Standard Liege, Athletic Bilbao and most probably Atletico Madrid in pot 1. A closer look at each pot Other potential pot 1 teams will be the winners of the matches between Club Brugge vs Braga, PAOK Salonia vs Rubin Kazan and Stoke vs Besiktas. The loser of the Stoke vs Besiktas match will join Porto, Ajax, Trabzonspor and Plzen, the 4 worst third placed Champions League teams as well as Lokomotiv Moscow, Legia Warsaw and Hannover 96 in pot 2. There are another 14 teams still fighting for one of the last 8 places left in the knock out phase. We will know these after next weeks action. Should Fulham, Tottenham or Birmingham gain the required results to qualify them to the knock out round they would all go into pot 2. As teams from the same association cannot be drawn in last 32, they would avoid the more fancied English sides. The draw for the the last 32 and the last 16 matches is drawn at the same time. In the draws for the round of 16 onwards, there are no seedings, and teams from the same group or the same association may be drawn with each other. In the knockout phase matches can be played on Tuesday/Wednesday and a Thursday dependant on schedule conflicts. |

I think the fact that Braga are through whatever happens means that they can go all out for the win they need to top the group. A draw or defeat for them means they finish second and face a tougher next round, so they have nothing to lose. |

Exactly. Bot clubs will want to top the group so as to avoid Man U, Man C, Valencia etc. So come on Braga, you can do it. |
